Concurrent with Shiseido's 140th anniversary, the cosmetic brand has chosen Jennifer Connelly as its newest spokesperson and face.

Connelly, 41, an Academy Award and Golden Globe winner, starred in the films 'Virginia', 'A Beautiful Mind', 'Reservation Road', 'Blood Diamond', and 'The House of Sand and Fog'.

She was a model with Shiseido when she represented the Future Solution LX Line in Asia.

Future Solution LX Line is a line of skin care high-end based on recognised scientific research launched in 2009. The actress also appeared in an advertisement for Shiseido makeup that was exclusively distributed in Japan. This time, Connelly will be representing the line globally.

Connelly said she hoped to share her journey with Future Solution LX with women around the world.

"We are delighted to welcome Jennifer to our family again in celebration of our 140th anniversary, "said Hiroshi Maruyama, director general of the international marketing department of Shiseido.

"Jennifer's genuine personality, commitment to approach to family and live a beautiful life are the core values of our company, and correspond to the client Shiseido. We believe it represents the essence of the line perfectly Future Solution LX and its inner and outer beauty will inspire our customers. "

Established in 1872, Shiseido is now sold in 88 countries. The Japanese brand offers skin care, makeup, fragrance, body care, sun protection and line of skin care for men.
